CBMS Training Requirements

State Security Administrators, County/Site Security Administrators, supervisors, and trainers must ensure training requirements identified by the SDD are adhered to for users of the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS). Below is guidance on which training you are required to take as it applies to your role within your agency. 

  
All CBMS Users

A new user or a user that has lost CBMS access for 180 days or more, must retake all required training.

  
Security Administrators

If a Security Administrator has lost CBMS access for 1 year or more, they must complete all required training again.

Get Started with a CBMS Account

What Type of CBMS Account do You Need? The requirements for training vary by what type of CBMS account access a worker requires. Will you just need to view cases or take action on cases within CBMS? To obtain a basic CBMS user account, you must complete one of the two Certificate Plans listed below. 

Read Only

To get a CBMS Read Only account with access to only view cases,

CBMS Read Only accounts are for Workforce Development (WFD), Employment First (EF), Benefit Recovery, and/or Front Desk Admin Support.

Application Initiation

To get a CBMS account with access to do Application Initiation, Interface Inquiry, and Case Comments, complete the

For Imaging Staff and Application Initiation Teams.

Update Access

To get a CBMS account with Update Access for a High-Level Program Group (HLPG), complete the

For workers that determine, authorize, and update eligibility for High-Level Program Groups (HLPGs).

What Training Do You Need to Take? All new CBMS users must complete the CBMS Access Certificate Plan.

What Training Do You Need to Take Chart

*Training for each of the HLPGs will be required only if the worker will be processing cases for that program.

Workers that determine and authorize eligibility for one of the six High-Level Program Groups (HLPGs) listed below will need to complete the Certificate Plan for each before gaining access within CBMS.
